Notes: This plant has been recorded as a new larval host for Loxura atymnus – Yamfly by K. Saji from Kozhikode, Kerala in 2009 and for Anthene emolus – Common Ciliate Blue by Sarpita Bose from South 24 Parganus, West Bengal in 2021.

 

Identification Keys: According to eFlora of India (2023),

  1. S. ovalifolia: leaves round, 5-7 nerved.
  2. S. zeylanica: leaves elliptic, 3-5 nerved.
