Natural History: Native Annual Herb.
It is an annual or biennial erect herb native to the Mediterranean region extending to the western Himalayas, although it can also be found in other temperate regions worldwide. Typically reaching heights of up to 1 meter, it produces pinnately lobed leaves. Its small yellow flowers form the characteristic cross (cruciform) shape typical of the Mustard family, arranged in elongated racemes. Fruits are slender cylindrical pods containing numerous seeds. Flowering occurs during the spring to early summer period (Flowers of India 2024).
