This species has been recorded so far from Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Puducherry UT, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal, within the Indian limits.
This is common species.

Zingiberaceae spp., Alpinia calcarata, Alpinia purpurata, Curcuma amada, Curcuma aromatica, Curcuma caesia, Curcuma decipiens, Curcuma longa, Curcuma neilgherrensis, Curcuma pseudomontana, Elettaria cardamomum, Hedychium spp., Hedychium coronarium, Hellenia speciosa (=Costus speciosus), Zingiber spp., Zingiber nimmonii, Zingiber officinale, Zingiber purpureum, Zingiber zerumbet (Zingiberaceae).
Liliaceae is also reported but is doubtful.
