(1) Bibasis sena sena (Moore, [1866]) – Indian Orange-tailed Awlet.
Taxonomic Information
This species has sometimes been placed under the genus Burara. In older literature it has also been known as the Orangetail Awl and Orange-tailed Awl. Since Bibasis are closer to Burara rather than to Hasora, we use the name Awlet instead of Awl.
Conservation and Special status
This species is legally protected in India under Schedule II of the Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Act, 2022 ('WPAA').

This species has been recorded so far from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, within the Indian limits.
This species is common.
