Erionota apex Semper, 1892 - White-tipped Palm-redeye

Subspecies in India

No subspecies are listed under this species. It is often treated as a subspecies of Erionota acroleuca (Wood-Mason & de Nicéville, 1881) (=hiraca (Moore, 1881)) – Small Palm-redeye, but they have distinct genitalia and very different phenotypes. Another name has been applied to this taxon: apicalis Evans, 1932, which has been updated to apicalis de Jong & Treadaway, 1992 (Xue and Lo 2015).
