Taxonomic Information

This species was earlier listed under Ochus, as Ochus subvittatus. Based on findings from dissections of the male genitalia and molecular phylogenetic analysis, subvittatus is now treated as a species under Ampittia (Huang et al. 2019). Similar to Ampittia dioscorides, (type species of the genus), subvittatus has "... uncus as broad as tegumen and bifid apically ..." (Huang et al. 2019).

Conservation and Special status

This species is not legally protected in India under any schedules of WildLife (Protection) Act, 1972.
