The nominotypical subspecies was known from the Naga Hills in Manipur and bordering northern Myanmar only from two records, both male collected in the late 1890s and now deposited in the British Museum of Natural History, London. The recent record by Shashank J. Dalvi from Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary, Nagaland (BOI ak571 and ak572), is only the third record of the subspecies from India and bordering northern Myanmar.
