Subspecies in India
(1) Appias albina swinhoei (Moore, [1905]) – Sahyadri Common Albatross
(2) Appias albina darada (C. & R. Felder, [1865]) – Sylhet Common Albatross
The subspecies darada is legally protected in India under Schedule II of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.

Crateva (Robinson et al. 2010), Crateva religiosa (Nair 2007) (Capparaceae). Drypetes oblongifolia (Kunte 2006; Robinson et al. 2010), Putranjiva roxburghii (Kunte 2006). Drypetes venusta (Wynter-Blyth 1957; Kunte 2000; Robinson et al. 2010) (Putranjivaceae). Another subspecies name, the NE Indian Appias albina darada (C. & R. Felder, [1865]), has sometimes been applied to the Western Ghats populations.
