This species occurs in the Himalaya and NE to S. China, Indo-China and SE Asia. It has been recorded so far from Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir UT, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal, within the Indian limits.
This common species occurs in low- and mid-elevation evergreen forests.
