Subspecies in India

(1) Prosotas nora ardates (Moore, [1875]) – Indian Common Lineblue
(2) Prosotas nora fulva (Evans, [1925]) – Andaman Common Lineblue
(3) Prosotas nora dilata (Evans, 1932) – Nicobar Common Lineblue

Conservation and Special status

The subspecies fulva, which occurs in the Andamans, is legally protected in India under Schedule II of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. However, it is not listed under any schedules of the Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Act, 2022.

This species has so far been recorded in all the states and union territories of India, except from Ladakh.

 

This species is rare.
