Prosotas dubiosa
Notes (optional)
Not sure about if this is Prosotas nora or dubiosa at this point, the caterpillars show variation with host plant flower color,
This was captured on Pithecellobium dulce, host plant shared by both sp. Caterpillar attended by ghost ants (Tapinoma melanocephalum), which I have also been seen previously with lime blue caterpillars (BOI ID-ge 139)
Updated: 11/02/2023
Based on multiple caterpillars raised (~10-15) and butterflies seen on the same plant, this caterpillar is of Prosotas dubiosa - Tailless Lineblue, the larve didn't have any reddish color in further instar possibly because the plant flowers are all white and green. They also feed exclusively on flowers and buds throughout their life cycle. The eggs are laid on the inflorescence, the caterpillars hatch, feed and even pupate inside a tightly packed cluster of flowers. The freshly formed pupae are green in color and later on pale brown colored. They darken within 4 days and adults emerge, overall a very quick life cycle.
