Lexias spp. - - Archdukes

Taxonomic Information

Three species of Archdukes occur in India: Great Archduke (Lexias cyanipardus), Dark Archduke (Lexias dirtea), and  Yellow-tipped Archduke (Lexias pardalis). Of these, the first two are best distinguished from their underside: Great Archduke (Lexias cyanipardus) has a metallic olive-green underside, whereas Dark Archduke (Lexias dirtea) has a chestnut-red or pale ochreous underside.
