This species is not legally protected in India under any schedules of WildLife (Protection) Amendment Act, 2022 ('WPAA').

This species has been recorded so far from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, within the Indian limits. 

 

This species is common.

Heteropanax fragrans, Schefflera sp., Schefflera elliptica, Schefflera lucidum, Schefflera venulosa, Schefflera wallichiana, Trevesia sundaica (Araliaceae).
Horsfieldia (Myristicaceae) and Embelia ribes (Primulaceae) have also been reported but need verification.
