Bell (1909) reared this species on Ichnocarpus frutescens. In Sri Lanka Gymnema lactiferum is reported LHP.
Female lays its egg singly on the undersurface of tender shoot. Most eggs are laid within 2 feet of the ground , rarely some much higher upto 8 feet. The larva develops rapidly within 12 days. Local name for this plant is "Bedki" and leaves are used in the treatment of Diabetes.
