Deudorix epijarbas (Moore, [1858]) - Cornelian

Subspecies in India

(1) Deudorix epijarbas epijarbas (Moore, [1858]) – Oriental Cornelian.
Two other names have been applied to Indian populations in the past (e.g., Evans 1932), but they should be subsumed under the nominotypical subspecies: (1) Deudorix epijarbas ancus Fruhstorfer, 1912, and (2) Deudorix epijarbas amatius Fruhstorfer, 1912.

The subspecies amatius is legally protected in India under Schedule I of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
