Photo Gallery and Species Biology

This species is traditionally known from the Khasi, Naga and Manipur Hills in NE India. It extends west- and southward into Myanmar, Indo-China and SE Asia. The images (BOI-dv600 to BOI-dv604) published here on 2019/09/18, taken at Rani near Guwahati on 22 March 2017 by Jayant Ghanshyam Bhoir, appear to represent a rare, if not the first, record of the species from the Brahmaputra plains of Assam.

Unknown. This species is historically known in the Western Ghats from a single verified record from Sampaje Ghat in Dakshina Kannada (=South Canara) (Yates 1931). Several more unconfirmed records have been subsequently reported (Larsen 1987) but its occurrence in the Western Ghats needs to be verified with new, confirmed records.
