No subspecies are listed under this species. It is usually treated as a subspecies of the Sri Lankan Mycalesis patnia Moore, 1857 – Sri Lankan Glad-eye Bushbrown.

Poaceae (K. Kunte pers. obs. 2017). Oplismenus compositus (Kalesh & Prakash 2015) (Poaceae). This is often treated as a subspecies of Mycalesis patnia Moore, [1858].
