This species was previously known to be distributed in northern India from Punjab to West Bengal, with the southernmost records in Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur (Maharashtra). The recent sightings by Paresh Kale (2010/11/13, image number BOI-ak631) at Harishchandragad, and by Milind Bhakare (2010/10/06, image numbers BOI-al003 and BOI-al004) at Thoseghar, both in western Maharashtra, represent a range expansion to the south-west, and the first records of the species from the Western Ghats.
