Halpemorpha hyrtacus (de Nicéville, 1897) – White-branded Ace
Subspecies in India:
No subspecies are listed under this species, which is also known as the Bicolour Ace. It was traditionally treated as a species under the genus Sovia (Sovia hyrtacus) but was recently moved to the newly raised genus, Halpemorpha Huang, Fan & Chiba, 2019 (Huang et al. 2019).

This species is endemic to the Western Ghats.
Larval Host Plants:
Poaceae (Wynter-Blyth 1957; Robinson et al. 2010), Bambusa spp. (V.C. Balakrishnan pers. obs. 2017),Ochlandra scriptoria (Kalesh & Prakash 2015), Ochlandra talbotii (Bell 1926), Ochlandra travancorica (Kalesh & Prakash 2007) (Poaceae). Kydia calycina (Robinson et al. 2010)(Malvaceae) is also reported but needs verification.
