Subspecies in India:
(1) Telinga misenus misenus (de Nicéville, 1889) – Sikkim Salmon-branded Bushbrown.
This species was earlier included under Mycalesis (Evans 1932), then under Heteropsis (Kodandaramaiah et al. 2010), but has since been transferred under Telinga (Aduse-Poku et al. 2016).
This species is legally protected in India under Schedule II of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
