Pseudocoladenia fatua (Evans, 1949) - Ruddy Pied Flat

Photo Gallery and Species Biology

Pseudocoladenia fatua, P. festa and P. fatih are best distinguished based on the differences in their male genitalia. Therefore, identifications of the images included on these three species pages are tentative. Specimens identified from dissections of male genitalia will be included on these species pages in due course. According to Evans (1949), P. fatih occurs only in the western Himalaya, whereas P. fatua and P. festa co-occur in the eastern Himalaya and NE India along with P. dan fabia. Evans indicated that there may be some elevational separation between the three NE Indian Pseudocoladenia, but that needs to be studied in greater detail before it is confirmed.
