This species is listed under Schedule I of the Wild(Life) Protection Act (1972), but had not been seen since 1910. Thus, the images (BOI-cx951 and BOI-cx952) taken by Shubham Gautam and Gaurav Agavekar in Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India, on 2018/04/19 and published on this website on 2018/04/20 contitute a rediscovery of this very rare and legally protected species after over a 100 years since its last sighting. Information such as the precise locality is being withheld to protect this population from illegal collecting until forest officials and other authorities put safety measures in place.
